Deep Fried Cauliflower
A person can only take watching others eat deep fried foods for so long before they give in and want to partake. My husband had previously bought a deep fryer with a temperature control and basket and fried all sorts of carby junk foods. That’s what started me deep frying this and that around the kitchen and eventually led me to deep frying cauliflower. You read that right. I deep fried The Cauli.
The incredibly complicated recipe involves dropping the florets in the oil a few minutes, then draining and salting. That’s it. No batter or coating needed. They just get that beautifully golden brown and delicious all on their own. I know! Could that be anymore golden?
Great served as is, or with a dipping sauce like ranch dressing or Sarayo sauce.
- Cauliflower florets
- Heat deep fryer oil to 385 degrees. Make sure cauliflower is completely dry and fill basket. Lower into oil and fry for 3 - 4 minutes, until golden brown and cooked through. Drain, dump on paper towel plate or tray and sprinkle with kosher salt.
